Cali, Colombia hosts the biggest inheritance of this well-known Caribbean music. This itinerary is designed for those who want to get involved in folklore, beautiful colonial style, and pristine white beaches.

Visit to La Candelaria, the historic city center where you will be in touch with the traditional colonial architecture of the city, and the historical places where this nation fought for its independence and other events. This visit gets a better and complete experience when visiting the icon of the city, the sanctuary of the fallen Lord at Monserrate Hill, one of the things to do in Bogotá, You’ll have fun- filled and informative walks where you will also discover how Colombian society is set, and its cultural offers. Approach Bogotá through the eyes of locals: Perceive how people live in Bogotá, customs, old buildings, gastronomy, the social sides and, of course have some fun.
This is a must see near Bogotá, you will visit the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira, an architectural structure built within a salt mine that is considered as the first marvel of Colombia. Inside the mine you will find a series of architectural and artistic designs that combined with the effects of light create beautiful images of symbols on the walls and ceiling of the cavernous spaces. Also, inside the mine you will learn about the process of salt formation, part of the mining process and witness an incredible light show that will make your day truly magical. Transfer to the airport and flight to Cali. Check in the hotel and time off.
On this day you will visit the most recognized places for salsa culture in Cali, such as Barrio Obrero (a local neighborhood) , the pioneer neighborhood that defined the dance identity of Cali. Later in the day visit two of the most important dance schools in the city, where the best dancers of the world have studied since they were children. This activity has an estimated duration of 4 hours. At the end, transfer back to the hotel and enjoy the facilities.
One of the highlights of the Pacific region is the fertility of its land. It is suitable for fruit, vegetables, and flower crops, and together with some traditional crafts, you will have one of the most authentic experiences in the city. Enjoy the aromas, flavors, colors, and textures of Valle del Cauca region, with a tour inside the main food market of the Caleños (people from Cali). Later in the day you visit the craft shops. This activity lasts approximately 3 hours. Transfer to the Airport and fly to Cartagena.
The city tour starts visiting the hill of La Popa, an old Augustinian convent located at 150 meters in the highest point of the city. From here you have the best view of Cartagena and you learn the strategies applied to defend the city in the colonial times. Then you will visit the greatest fortress ever built by the Spaniards in their colonies, San Felipe de Barajas. In one hour you will explore this military architectural masterpiece built in coralline stone. Later that day, you will visit the historic center, where in a walk of about 2 hours you get in touch with the most representative and beautiful squares, churches and streets. At night it is recommended to visit Club la Havana in the neighborhood of Getsemaní (Private transfers may have an additional cost).
Rosario Islands in Cartagena form a Natural Underwater Park ideal for the contemplation of colorful coral reef in a shallow water. It is located 45 kilometers far from Cartagena’s Bay, the park protects underwater ecosystems, coral reef mainly, where a variety of colorful fishes can be appreciated while snorkeling. The experience gets completed with the amazing pristine beaches that surround the natural park. A specialized guide will pick you up from the hotel, and take you in a private A/C vehicle to La Bodeguita dock. Here you get aboard a motorboat that will take you to Isla del Sol. The boat transportation to the Island lasts about an hour. Once you get to the Island you will have time to take your time on the beach. As optional activities in the Island, you can find snorkelling, kayaking or a visit to San Martín de Pajarales Aquarium. Your stay in the island includes a traditional lunch. The return to Cartagena starts about 3 pm.
Transfer to Santa Marta in a private vehicle at the agreed time. Santa Marta is one of the oldest cities in Latin America, and it is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. Its history includes battlefields and the life of Simón Bolivar, and its nature is shaped by the highest coastal mountain in the world (5775 meters above sea level).
This activity begins with a visit to San Pedro Alejandrino’s house, an emblematic sugar cane farm where Simon Bolivar died in December 1830. You will have the opportunity to appreciate some objects that date back to the 18th century. One of them is the bed where Simon Bolivar passed away. You will also have the chance to see other moments of his glorious life as a South American hero. A big memorial dedicated to him is a good example. In addition, you visit the Bolivarian Museum, located in the same premises. There, you can see how Bolivar’s life is depicted in different artworks. Later, you go to Santa Marta’s Historic Centre to visit the Cathedral, the oldest church in Colombia, and see how Catholicism is still very important in Colombian culture. After that, you take the 3rd Ave. to sightsee some places like Simon Bolivar Park, “Los Novios” Park, the Palace of Justice, San Francisco Church and the Bay’s Esplanade.
Its white sandy beaches are defined by tropical forests and the Caribbean Sea’s crystal-clear turquoise waters. This makes Tayrona National Park one of the most stunning in the country. It has a diversity of trails that go deep into the forest, taking you to some archaeological sites of great relevance for pre-Columbian indigenous groups in Colombia. The day starts with leaving Santa Marta in a private car to reach the eastern entrance of the park. From Cañaveral area you begin hiking through the tropical dry forest and some beaches until you reach Arrecifes (1h. approx). The hike continues for one more hour, passing by some beaches like Arenillas Beach, La Piscina, and Cabo San Juan Beach, where you have time for bathing and relaxing at this exotic place. Around 4:00 pm you begin the return journey to Santa Marta (1 h.)
